Ron Jans, a former coach, has stated that he will not be appearing on Vandaag Inside, a popular programme hosted by Wilfred Genee, Johan Derksen, and René van der Gijp. Jans explained to Sportnieuws that his decision has nothing to do with the 'Keukenrol-incident' or a personal feud with the programme's hosts. "I have no dislike for Genee, Derksen or Van der Gijp," he said.
Jans' main issue is with the way people are discussed on the programme. He believes that it often goes over the heads of certain individuals, and that the programme frequently presents half-truths or lies. This is why he has decided not to appear on the show. Jans has stated that he has no problem with the hosts, but feels that the programme lacks nuance. "I also said that I held no grudges, but that's all taken out of context. The nuance is simply gone."
Despite this, Jans hasn't ruled out watching Vandaag Inside occasionally. "I have respect for them. They do well in terms of viewership. I might watch it occasionally and think: this is fun! But then I think: I'm switching it off."
