According to Football Italia, negotiations between FC Porto and Roma had seemingly reached a breakthrough on Tuesday evening, with an agreement in place for a loan deal worth €7-10m, including an option to buy for a further €40-43m at the end of the season. However, talks have now ground to a halt due to fundamentally different ideas between the clubs on what should activate the option to buy clause. Porto want it to be practically a certainty with European qualification, whereas Roma would prefer to tie this to Champions League entry or even the Scudetto.
Rodrigo Mora's lawyer, Luis Miguel Henrique, has spoken out about the player's situation, stating that he is 'sad and suffering' that the transfer is not going through. Henrique also revealed that Mora has realised he is a third choice for Francesco Farioli, which represents a problem for the player. Mora wants to play and fight for his place, but it seems that his chances of doing so at FC Porto are slim. Reports suggest that Galatasaray had come back into the race for Rodrigo Mora, but it appears that the teenager's heart is set on Roma.
