PSV and Celtic have agreed on the transfer of Joël van den Berg. The midfielder will undergo a medical checkup in Scotland. If the checkup does not cause any issues, a contract until mid-2030 will be available for Van den Berg at Celtic. The Scottish club has been keen on signing the PSV player, who also wants to make the move to Glasgow.
Van den Berg's chances of playing time at PSV were limited due to the strong competition in the midfield. Celtic, however, sees him as a player who can break through to the first team in the short term. The transfer is expected to leave PSV with around four million euros in profit. The Eindhoven-based club is now looking to sign a new midfielder, with interest in Ayoni Santos from Sparta reportedly already expressed.
Van den Berg will travel to Glasgow on Monday to finalise his move to Celtic.
