Arsenal's youngsters have impressed in the Premier League preseason, with Max Dowman, Rio Ngumoha, and Aston Villa's Brian Madjo catching the eye.
According to ESPN Soccer, Dowman earned a surprise nomination for the PFA's Young Player of the Season award despite starting just a single Premier League game for Arsenal. The 16-year-old winger shone brightly in a 4-1 preseason victory over Girona, earning a goal and an assist.
Ngumoha, a 17-year-old Liverpool winger, has started in three of the club's four preseason games so far, scoring the only goal in Liverpool's 1-0 win over Wrexham. However, the most prolific teenager in preseason must be Aston Villa's Brian Madjo, who has four goals this preseason.
Madjo joined Villa in a £10 million deal from Metz on his 17th birthday in January and has had a breakout preseason. He has scored four goals, including twice against Walsall, before further strikes against Real Sociedad and an Indonesia league All Stars team.
