Palmeiras' young stars are facing uncertain futures after the club's defeat in the final of the Campeonato Brasileiro Sub-20. According to Globo Esporte Futebol, the team would have become the largest champion of the competition if it had won the title.
Koné, an 18-year-old zagueiro, is one of the main promises of this generation of Crias da Academia. He has been training with the professional team and has been related to two games this season. Koné's height, 1.93m, and technical ability make him a standout player. However, he is currently in sixth place in the team's lineup, behind Gustavo Gómez, Alexander Barboza, Murilo, Bruno Fuchs, and Benedetti.
Benedetti, a 20-year-old zagueiro, has already received chances in the professional team since last year. However, he will not be able to intercalate between the base and the professional team due to age. Despite being one of the few left-footed zagueiros in the team, Benedetti has not been able to establish himself as a solid option for the coach. He has received sondagens from clubs abroad and may leave Palmeiras next year.
André Lucas, a 20-year-old lateral-esquerdo, is another player who has "estourado a idade" (reached the age limit) of the sub-20 team. He is expected to become the third option for the left-back position in the professional team next season.
