Ferreira will not be able to direct his team in their upcoming matches against Botafogo and San Pablo. The ban was handed down after Ferreira was seen kicking a microphone in a recent match against Mirassol. This is not the first time Ferreira has been involved in controversy, having previously been fined for kicking a microphone in a Libertadores match against Cerro Porteño.
Ferreira had expressed frustration at the possibility of being suspended, stating "I also kicked the microphone in the Libertadores, but I was fined, not removed from the game. In the STJD, you know that I have already been judged and received 8 games of suspension. I didn't kill anyone. I live football intensely. Let me say one thing: my name is Abel Ferreira and I am a human being. I will also make mistakes."
The ban is a result of an appeal by Palmeiras, which reduced the original suspension from eight to seven games and included all Brazilian competitions.
