João Pedro, the vice-artilheiro of the Qatar Stars League in the 2026/27 season, has spoken about the challenges of playing in the league, citing the arrival of big players as a major factor. According to Globo Esporte Futebol, João Pedro stated that "when big players with big names arrive, the league becomes more visible and more difficult." This increased visibility is important for players and the league, he added.

The Qatar Stars League has 12 clubs and 22 rounds, with the Al-Sadd having won the third consecutive title and having 19 national trophies. Roger Guedes, of Al-Rayyan, was the artilheiro of the last edition with 21 goals, while João Pedro was the vice-artilheiro with 16 goals.

João Pedro's team, Qatar SC, has started the new season with a 2-2 draw against Al-Wakrah. The league allows clubs to use up to five foreign players simultaneously.
