OGC Nice have made Ghanaian defender Alidu Seidu their priority to replace injured player Antoine Mendy, according to Ouest-France. The 26-year-old Ghanaian international no longer features in Rennes' plans and meets the criteria set by the Nice decision-makers. He has 106 Ligue 1 matches under his belt and is comfortable in a 3-defender system, as well as being able to play as a right-back.
Seidu's experience and versatility make him an attractive option for the OGC Nice. The deal between the parties can only be made in the form of a loan with an option to buy, as Seidu is under contract with Stade Rennais until June 2029. His arrival could also benefit Nice off the pitch, as Seidu is one of the leaders in the Rennes dressing room.
The OGC Nice are now waiting for Ineos to validate their budget before making contact with Rennes.
