Davide Frattesi, who scored in each of the opening three matchdays after arriving from Inter, and Lautaro Martinez, who has four goals in four games, are among the favourites to win the award. However, Daniel Maldini and Giorgi Kvernadze, who have rediscovered themselves at Cagliari and Frosinone respectively, are the outsiders in the running. Maldini has three goals for Cagliari after a difficult spell at Lazio, while Kvernadze has three goals and an assist for newly-promoted Frosinone, with Roma enquiring about his services and Frosinone demanding €25m for him.
