The new training centre is part of a wider investment in infrastructure by Kang, who views it as essential to ensuring female athletes are no longer treated differently from their male counterparts. Speaking to BBC Sport, Kang revealed that the centre will be built and designed specifically for female athletes, with a focus on providing them with the best possible facilities and support.
Kang's ambitions extend beyond London, with plans to replicate the standards being established at London City across the globe through her multi-club ownership model. She wants future generations of female players to enjoy opportunities equal to those available to boys, regardless of where they grow up.
A purpose-built training centre is expected to open within the next year, with Kang's architect, who has built several Premier League training centres, stating that it will be better than the majority of Premier League men's teams training centres by the time it is up and running.
