Chiesa has struggled for opportunities at Anfield, with the 28-year-old limited to just 104 minutes of top-flight action in his first season. Despite finding the back of the net in the first week of the 2025-26 campaign, he was only trusted to start once across 38 Premier League matches in his second season. With the arrival of Victor Munoz this summer and the potential signing of Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain, Chiesa finds himself behind the likes of Cody Gakpo, Florian Wirtz, and teenager Rio Ngumoha in the pecking order.

Chiesa's current contract runs until the summer of 2028, and he earns a net salary of around €6m per season with bonuses included. Liverpool are expected to command a fee of around €15m for the former Italy international.
