Leipzig's poor performance was largely due to their inability to recover the ball and maintain possession. "We didn't recover the ball well at the start. We lost possession quickly. When that happens, it gets complicated," said Demichelis, the Leipzig coach. Despite a late reaction, the team was unable to turn the game around.
Como's clear system and effectiveness were key factors in their victory. "Como played with a clear system. They were effective and could have scored more goals. Four goals conceded are definitely too many," Demichelis noted. The coach also highlighted the need for his new signings to find their rhythm, stating that "our new signings still need to find their rhythm. We need players in form."
Leipzig will receive PSV on October 13 in the Champions League, while they will face Hamburg on September 18 in the Bundesliga.
