Jurgen Klopp, the former Liverpool manager, has announced his first squad as Germany's coach, comprising 44 players for the Nations League matches. The squad includes 16 uncapped players, with a mix of experienced and young players. The Alternative for Germany (AfD) party won 43.8% of the vote in the eastern state of Saxony-Anhalt, falling just short of securing an absolute majority in the regional parliament.
Klopp's squad is divided into two groups, with the first group including Premier League trio Kai Havertz (Arsenal), Kevin Schade (Brentford), and Anton Stach (Leeds), as well as Jamal Musiala, who has been selected despite twice collapsing during pre-season games for Bayern Munich. The second group includes Brentford's Vitaly Janelt, who has received his first call-up, along with Florian Wirtz (Liverpool) and Malick Thiaw (Newcastle).
Germany's first Nations League match is against the Netherlands in Amsterdam on 24 September, with the second match against Greece in Augsburg three days later.
