Branthwaite credits the MYOS sports and health clinic in Munich for turning his fortunes around, where he spent three to four weeks working with a team to assess different things and hopefully find a solution to his injury issues. The Everton defender has been ever-present in the Premier League this season, after being restricted to just 10 appearances last season due to repeat hamstring problems. Branthwaite believes that the rehabilitation programme, which looked at links between his injuries and his brain and movement, has been a turning point in his career.

The 24-year-old centre-half has been rewarded for his fine start to the season with a place in Thomas Tuchel's squad for the Nations League fixtures. If selected, it will be Branthwaite's second appearance for the England senior side, having made his debut as a substitute in a win against Bosnia and Herzegovina in June 2024.
