The 22-year-old attacker has been in impressive form for FC Nuremberg, scoring five goals in five 2.Bundesliga games so far this season. Zoma can play as an attacking midfielder, centre-forward or left winger and found the net on Friday as well, in a 2-1 home victory against Hannover 96. Born in Merate on December 15, 2003, Zoma has both Italian and Ivory Coast citizenships, but hasn't yet represented either countries at a youth level.
Zoma's impressive form has caught the attention of Italy coach Roberto Mancini, who will be in Paris tonight to watch Luca Koleosho and Diego Coppola in action during Paris FC vs. Lyon. Mancini will name his squad list for the upcoming Nations League matches next week and it's expected that his selection will include quite a few debutants. Zoma's inclusion in the Azzurri squad is a possibility, but it remains to be seen whether Mancini will opt to leave him with the Azzurrini, who will be involved in U21 European Championship and Olympic Games qualifiers between October and November.
Mancini's scouting trip to Paris will give him a chance to assess Koleosho and Coppola's performances, both of whom have already made their senior Italy debut. Koleosho is a key player for Italy U21, which could influence Mancini's decision regarding Zoma's inclusion in the Azzurri squad.
