Former Inter coach Fabio Capello has praised the Nerazzurri's Andy Diouf and Como's Assane Diao as the best Serie A players in the Champions League round 1. Capello believes that Diouf's performance against Real Madrid was a surprise, but it's thanks to players like him that Inter can improve and stay competitive on all fronts.
Capello also praised Como's coach for his tactics and intelligence, saying that he changes tactics and isn't afraid to adapt. He added that players like Diouf and Diao have a change of pace, quality and speed that impressed him. Como were the only Serie A club to secure a win in the Champions League Round 1, while Inter lost to Real Madrid, Napoli suffered a 1-0 home loss against Arsenal, and Roma grabbed a 1-1 away draw at Fenerbahce.
Capello is particularly intrigued by Como's coach and believes that they can even fight for the Scudetto. He thinks that once they secure Champions League qualification again, they will have to prove they are competitive enough to make things difficult for the others. The Nerazzurri return to action on Monday, hosting Udinese at San Siro, despite the many absentees in the Bianconeri squad.
Capello feels that Udinese should not be underestimated, and he's also keeping an eye on Roma, saying "Let's also see what Gasp will do." The ex-Milan, Roma and Juventus coach concluded that Como have the potential to be competitive in the Scudetto race.
The Nerazzurri will face Udinese at San Siro on Monday, with several key absences in the Bianconeri squad.
