La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Inter are closing in on a deal with Tottenham for the transfer of Djed Spence. The reported transfer fee is in the region of €30m plus bonuses. Inter have been searching for a new right wing-back to replace Denzel Dumfries, who left the club after his release clause was activated by Real Madrid. Inter had previously attempted to sign Marco Palestra from Atalanta, but he joined Chelsea instead. Anan Khalaili was also close to joining Inter, but issues arose during his medical.
Inter have been linked with Djed Spence in previous transfer windows, and reports earlier this summer suggested they were keen on signing him. However, Tottenham were seeking a fee in the region of €40m-€50m. Inter have been waiting for Tottenham to lower their asking price and for Roberto De Zerbi to sanction the departure of Djed Spence. If the deal is completed, Inter could sell right winger Luis Henrique to Roma for a fee in the region of €25m, potentially opening up the possibility of Benjamin Pavard staying with the squad for the 2026-27 season.
