Harry Kane, a striker for Bayern Munich, achieved 61 goals in all competitions last season. His team completed a league and cup double and reached the semi-finals of the Champions League. Kane received 272 votes, with Bayern team-mate Michael Olise second, having 203 votes. Bayern's sporting director praised Kane, saying he was almost impossible to describe with superlatives. Bayern boss Vincent Kompany was also recognised, being named coach of the year.
Kane and Kompany will be honoured on Friday at Bayern's Bundesliga opener against VfB Stuttgart at the Allianz Arena. Bayern began their season with a win in the German Super Cup against Borussia Dortmund. Kane received the 2026 Golden Shoe award for being the top scorer across Europe's top leagues last season.
