Grealish has been back in action for Manchester City early this term, but his loan move to Everton brings an end to a summer of speculation over his future. The 30-year-old England forward had the option of making a return to his boyhood club Aston Villa, but instead chose to rejoin the Toffees.
Grealish has been watching all the Everton games in pre-season and since the season started, and has now completed his medical. The loan deal will see the Toffees cover 90 per cent of Grealish's wages, with the player set to return to Manchester City at the end of the season.
Grealish's loan move to Everton last season was a success, with the player setting up two goals on his first start and winning the league's Player of the Month award in September. However, a foot injury he picked up against Villa in January ended his campaign prematurely.
Grealish's time at Manchester City has been marked by inconsistency, with the player generally not hitting the same heights as he did during his breakout years at Aston Villa. A move away from the Etihad Stadium could well be necessary to kickstart his career, and his loan spell at Everton may be just what he needs to get back to his best.
Grealish is expected to start training with Everton tomorrow and prepare for the upcoming games.
