The match was a dull game, with Excelsior struggling to find their footing after a heavy defeat last weekend. The visitors, Go Ahead Eagles, were able to capitalise on this and secure their first away win of the season.
Tengstedt's goal was his ninth of the season, making him the current top scorer in the Eredivisie. However, he is not alone at the top, with Wout Weghorst and Brynjólfur Willumsson also on eight goals.
Excelsior had been hoping to avoid a fifth consecutive Eredivisie loss, but were unable to do so. They did manage to create some chances, including a free kick from Alireza Jahanbakhsh, but were unable to find the back of the net.
