The Flamengo's failed attempt to sign Gonzalo Plata, who was sold to Dínamo de Moscou but returned to the club due to medical issues, has also been a source of controversy. The club has promised to seek "reparations" for the player's "devaluation" and has accused the Russian club of being "amateurish and irresponsible".
