The Flamengo football club has agreed to a loan deal with the young centre-back Matheus Garay, who is considered a promising player in the under-17 category. The 16-year-old defender joins the club on a one-and-a-half-year loan from Sfera, the current Paulista champions in the under-17 category, with an option to purchase. Garay, who stands at 1.88m, has been with the Paulista club since 2021, initially in the under-13 category. He has also represented the team of Santana de Parnaíba in an international competition in the Grande São Paulo area. In the previous season, Garay served as captain, leading the Sfera team to the quarterfinals of the Paulista Championship in the under-15 category.
