According to L'Équipe, FairSquare has lodged a complaint with FIFA's ethics committee, accusing Infantino of violating the organization's neutrality rules and abusing his powers. The eight episodes cited include his close relationship with Trump and the awarding of the FIFA Peace Prize to the US president in December 2025. This is not the first time FairSquare has taken action against Infantino, as the organization lodged a similar complaint with the International Olympic Committee's ethics committee in July, which was rejected.
Infantino has already confirmed his intention to run for re-election in 2027, and is currently the only declared candidate. However, the Belgian Football Federation has stated that it will not support his candidacy unless he provides answers on issues of transparency and governance.
