According to VoetbalPrimeur, the club has taken swift action against those responsible for the disturbances, which included fireworks and flares being thrown onto the pitch. The match was eventually abandoned after 64 minutes due to the safety concerns.
FC Utrecht has stated that it will continue to analyse the CCTV footage to identify those involved, and will take further action against anyone found to be responsible. The club has also enlisted the help of the KNVB's Taskforce, which provides support to clubs in dealing with football-related incidents. Those who have been banned from the stadium can also face a national ban if deemed necessary by the KNVB.
