Waldemar Kita, who has been the president of FC Nantes for 20 years, expressed his concerns about the club's current balance, stating that the team's performance is not good, with FC Nantes sitting 17th in the league. This comes after the team's relegation to L2 in May last year, which Kita described as having been "very, very bad". The dismissal of trainer Michel Der Zakarian after the third match could cost Kita 1 million euros, but he has taken full responsibility for the decision, saying "I always pay cash when I take a risk".
Kita is also impressed with the new trainer, Grégory Poirier, describing his game as "offensive and modern". He believes that Poirier has the potential to take the team to great heights, saying "if he has a bit of luck, he can go very, very high". Kita has spent 200 million euros on the club since 2007, but has not made a profit, saying "I haven't earned a single centime". Despite this, Kita remains committed to the club, saying "I am still here to help the club run smoothly".
Kita has also been open about his own doubts and uncertainties, stating that he is not sure if he is the right person to lead the club. He regrets the failure of the YellowPark stadium project and the new training centre, due to a lack of dialogue with the local authorities. Kita has three takeover proposals on his table, but he is not in a hurry to sell the club.
