Esther González, a 2025 NWSL MVP finalist, has joined Saudi club Al Qadsiah, according to ESPN Soccer. The 33-year-old forward was signed through the 2027 NWSL season at the time of her mutual contract termination with Gotham FC. González helped Gotham win 2023 and 2025 NWSL Championship titles, scoring the winning goal in the final of the 2023 championship.
González was a key player for Gotham, scoring 13 goals in the regular season last year. She also won the 2023 World Cup with Spain shortly before joining Gotham FC. Al Qadsiah, coached by Giles Barnes, finished fourth last season under the direction of Canadian Carmelina Moscato as head coach.
