Borussia Dortmund's head coach Edin Kovač has expressed his reluctance to take any risks with the Guinean frontman ahead of Saturday's Bundesliga clash with Elversberg, despite not believing Guirassy's injury to be a serious one.
Kovač stated after the game that Guirassy said he could feel his thigh, and the issue will need to be assessed. Guirassy was unable to continue playing, and was replaced by Konstantinos Karetsas, who scored the winning goal.
Guirassy has been in impressive form this season, scoring eight goals in 14 appearances for Dortmund in all competitions, including four in four Champions League outings and a goal in last weekend's 2-2 draw at Bayern Munich in Der Klassiker.
Dortmund will now have to assess the extent of Guirassy's injury and decide whether he will be available for their upcoming match against Elversberg.
