Crystal Palace's new manager Pierre Sage has been under pressure since replacing Oliver Glasner, who won three trophies in 12 months. Sage's decision to drop teenager Jaydee Canvot at the weekend sparked some disquiet behind the scenes.

The result was never in doubt after Lech Poznan gifted Yéremy Pino a goal direct from their own throw-in. Chris Richards and Jørgen Strand Larsen scored goals for Crystal Palace before half-time, making the points safe. Eddie Nketiah rounded off the comfortable win with a late fourth goal.

Poznan's poor performance was compounded by Radoslaw Murawski being sent off late on for a reckless foul on Jaydee Canvot. The Polish champions were backed by a vociferous travelling support, but their European campaign started on a low note.

Crystal Palace will hope this win can kickstart their campaign under Sage, who faces a testing trip to face in-form Leeds on Sunday.
