The centre-back joined Wrexham on a permanent deal from Leicester City in the 2025 summer transfer window for an undisclosed fee, believed to be around £2m. Coady started Wrexham's opening five games of the 2025-26 campaign but swiftly fell down the pecking order in north Wales. He joined Charlton Athletic on loan during the mid-season window and made 12 appearances for the Addicks.
Wrexham are closing in on a deal to sign central defender Joe Worrall from Championship rivals Burnley, which may indicate a defensive problem for the club. Coady has not featured in any of Wrexham's four matchday squads across all competitions so far this season. A club statement read: "All at Wrexham AFC would like to thank Conor for his efforts while with the club and wish him well for the future."
