The 80-year-old former Brazil coach, who led the national team to World Cup victory in 1994, was hospitalised on June 16 with severe pulmonary inflammation. He underwent surgery 12 days later to treat a nasal bleeding. Parreira has been battling lymphoma for years.
Globo Esporte Futebol reports that Parreira has shown positive clinical evolution during his hospitalisation and will now undergo home and outpatient monitoring. The hospital statement reads: "The ex-Brazil coach, throughout the period of hospitalisation, presented positive clinical evolution after being admitted with a severe pulmonary inflammation. From now on, he will undergo home and outpatient monitoring of his general condition."
