Bournemouth, who are playing in Europe for the first time, will open their campaign against AC Milan at home before a trip to Spanish side Real Sociedad. Sunderland, meanwhile, will start against AZ Alkmaar before a trip to the San Siro, where they will face AC Milan. This will be Sunderland's first European competition since the 1973-74 Cup Winners' Cup.
Crystal Palace have also been drawn in the UEFA Europa League, and will play Lyon in the group stages. New manager Pierre Sage will return to Lyon, where he was in charge between 2023 and 2025. Celtic, who dropped down to the Europa League after their Champions League defeat to LASK, will face a tough group with Marseille, Ferencvaros, Celta Vigo, and Besiktas.
Bournemouth's away dates will take them to Sociedad and Celta Vigo in Spain, Sparta Prague in the Czech Republic, and Norwegian outfit Lillestrom. Sunderland's other away dates are at AZ Alkmaar, Lech Poznan, and Portuguese second-tier club Torreense. The dates of the fixtures will be confirmed by UEFA across the weekend.
