According to Globo Esporte Futebol, the assembly will debate a proposal to increase the capital of SAF Botafogo through the issuance of 200 million new ordinary shares of Class B, priced at R$ 0.01 each. This would total R$ 2 million, to be used immediately to pay part of the employees' salaries. The proposal is seen as a decisive step to allow the company, owned by Gabriel de Alba, to assume control of Botafogo's football in the future.
The current majority shareholder, Botafogo social, holds 51% of the shares, acquired in July after accusing Eagle of breaching the shareholders' agreement. Eagle currently owns the remaining 49% of shares. The assembly will also discuss the possibility of diluting Eagle's participation in the company. If Eagle does not purchase the new shares within the stipulated period, the club social may manifest interest in the remaining shares and make the purchase within five days.
