Borussia Mönchengladbach has fired trainer Eugen Polanski after three competitive matches, according to Duitse media. The decision was made a day after the 5-0 loss to SC Freiburg. This is the second consecutive year that the club has parted ways with their head coach after just three matches, following the departure of Gerardo Seoane last season.
Gladbach started the new season dramatically, losing their first three Bundesliga matches. They are still on zero points and have received twelve goals against, in contrast to their own three goals scored. Polanski was appointed as the head coach of Gladbach in September 2025, taking over from Seoane. Sport director Rouven Schröder did not express his trust in Polanski after the match, and the trainer reportedly offered his resignation after the game.
The club has not released an official statement regarding the situation. Despite this, Gladbach managed to finish twelfth in the Bundesliga last season.
