Gyökeres, a 28-year-old Swedish attacker, has been on Barcelona's radar as an alternative to Julián Álvarez of Atlético de Madrid. According to El Chiringuito, Barcelona plans to consult the conditions for a possible negotiation with Gyökeres in the coming hours. The club is looking for a new attacking option after the departures of Ferran Torres, who joined Paris Saint-Germain for €50 million, and Robert Lewandowski, who left Barcelona at the end of his contract in June.

Gyökeres has shown promise in his first season with Arsenal, scoring 21 goals, but has yet to establish himself as a regular starter. He was an unused substitute in Arsenal's Champions League final appearance in May and was also left out of the starting lineup for the Community Shield match against Manchester City, which Arsenal won 3-0. Gyökeres has gone six games without scoring in official matches, excluding friendlies.

Barcelona has already made a significant signing this summer, securing Rodri for €75 million, a deal that was increased by €25 million from the initial offer. The Spanish club is looking to strengthen its squad ahead of the new season.
