However, Arsenal were not given that choice because the match had already been rescheduled before the Champions League fixtures had been announced. The match was moved to a later kick-off in the interest of avoiding any late rescheduling for supporters attending.
Arsenal will play three matches at 20:00 BST in the space of six days, with the trip to Sunderland coming in between hosting Napoli in the Champions League and a trip to Ipswich Town in the EFL Cup.
