Venezia have been beaten by Lecce, Milan, Frosinone, Fiorentina and Lazio so far in Serie A this season, on top of a 2-1 defeat by Udinese in the Coppa Italia round of 32. This poor run of form had left promotion-winning head coach Stroppa at risk of losing his job. However, according to reports from Sky Sport Italia, Venezia have decided to put their confidence in Stroppa, who stormed to the Serie B title with 82 points last season.
Venezia decision makers have reportedly been making their reflections over the last few days, following the recent 2-0 loss against Lazio. But they have come to the conclusion that Stroppa deserves a longer period to prove his worth in Serie A. His next test will come away against Atalanta in Bergamo on October 12, before another difficult fixture against Napoli on October 17.
Two Serie A coaches have already lost their jobs within the first five matches of the season: Fabio Grosso was given the boot by Fiorentina after losing the first three games of 2026-27, and Bologna have recently dismissed Domenico Tedesco, who picked up just one point from his first four league games in charge.
