The loan is dependent on authorization from the Justice and the manifestation of the involved parties in the judicial recovery. This move comes as the club's SAF (Sociedade Anônima Fechada) is in favor of being acquired by Almirante Participações, owned by Marcos Faria Lamacchia. However, Vasco cannot sell to Lamacchia before the opening of the competition, but he has clauses of preference to cover any other proposal that reaches the club.
The SAF of Vasco states that the lack of resources may cause deterioration of assets, loss of competitiveness, and even eventual relegation, factors that could reduce the value of the company and harm the process of searching for a new investor. The urgency for contracts in the current transfer window is due to the release of money, and a delay may reduce the available options to reinforce the team in the market.
Vasco took a loan of R$ 80 million in October last year, also in the DIP modality, with Crefisa, Leila Pereira's company. These values will be converted into capital of the new SAF if Lamacchia is considered the new investor of the football club - otherwise, the club will have to pay the value to the company. The current transfer window is set to close on September 11.
