Valentijn Driessen, a journalist from De Telegraaf, has expressed his surprise that Ajax have not yet contacted NEC about signing Darko Nejasmic. Driessen thinks Ajax should have made contact with NEC to acquire Nejasmic. He believes that Nejasmic is the type of player Ajax are looking for.
Driessen has been critical of Ajax's recent transfers, stating that they have not been impressive. He specifically mentioned that Ter Stegen joined Ajax for free, and that Brandt and Blind are players he would like to see in Europe, with Blind being a notable exception.
Driessen has also been critical of three Ajax players: Maher Carrizo, Caio Henrique, and Marcos Leonardo. He thinks the Brazilian striker (Marcos Leonardo) probably has to play because he cost money, but he brings nothing. The other Brazilian (Caio Henrique) and the Argentine (Maher Carrizo) also bring nothing, according to Driessen.
Ajax will now have to decide whether to pursue a move for Nejasmic, or to continue with their current transfer strategy.
