The 18-year-old Oppong is an explosive winger who has been recruited to support Toulouse's ambitious project under new coach Jens Berthel Askou. Askou, a 43-year-old Danish coach, has taken over from Carles Martinez Novell, whose contract was not renewed after three seasons stabilizing the club in Ligue 1.

Toulouse's ambition is to show a more attacking style of play, and Oppong's signing is part of this plan. The young winger has been described by Toulouse's sporting director Viktor Bezhani as a dynamic player who can bring speed and impact to the team. Oppong has developed in the left wing position and is also capable of playing on the right, similar to Yann Gboho.

Toulouse has been in constant progression since their return to Ligue 1 in 2022, finishing ninth last season. This is their first top-nine finish since the 2013-2014 season. The club has also invested in a new training center, which is expected to be completed by November. The 18-million-euro project involves the renovation of an old university restaurant, located near the team's training grounds and stadium on the Île du Ramier.

Toulouse will face Lyon in their first league match of the season on August 22.
