He thinks the level of the competition is even higher than the Eredivisie, where he plays for his club. Reijnders stated, "I don't think I can just play at 65% in every match there. I think the Saudi Pro League, with all the big names, is even higher in level than the Eredivisie. If people want to make a judgment about the football there, they should see it first."
This view is shared by Dutch national team coach Xavi, who also praised the level of the Saudi Pro League in a recent press conference. Xavi said, "If you follow the competition, you see that it's not a bad level. And if a player performs well there, I have no problem selecting him." Reijnders appreciates the new energy around the Dutch national team under Xavi's leadership, saying, "After the first meeting, I immediately felt like going onto the pitch. New ideas and a new way of playing. I think it's also good for the group."
