Chris de Graaf has submitted his resignation as Spakenburg coach. The 39-year-old told Algemeen Dagblad that a disagreement with the club's technical committee led to his departure.
Recent defeats against De Treffers and RKAV Volendam were not the decisive factor, according to De Graaf. The dispute centred on a disciplinary issue involving midfielder Des Kunst, who failed to follow team agreements after the cup tie against RKAV Volendam.
De Graaf and the technical committee then disagreed about the consequences. The coach said team culture was central to his approach and concluded that he had to leave when the people involved no longer shared the same position.
