Scotland had 17 shots, their most attempts in a competitive game in more than 14 years, but were unable to find the back of the net. The team's new head coach Sebastien Pocognoli made significant changes in the second half, dropping Oli McBurnie a little deeper and getting Billy Gilmour to dictate the pace of the game.
The second half was a complete turnaround from the first, with Scotland dominating possession and creating numerous chances. McBurnie had a one-on-one chance with Jan Oblak but failed to convert, while Robbie Ure hit a post and Kieron Bowie had a terrific chance. Scotland's next test is against Switzerland on Tuesday night at Hampden, a game that will be a fascinating examination of Pocognoli's prowess.
