Dominguez joins Sassuolo on a temporary basis, with the option to make the move permanent for a reported €10m. The versatile winger was signed by Bologna from Gimnasia La Plata in 2024 for €5.2m, plus a 15 per cent cut of the future sale fee. During his time at Bologna, Dominguez made 48 competitive appearances, scoring four goals and contributing six assists.
The loan signing of Dominguez is part of Sassuolo's busy transfer market activity this summer, as new coach Alberto Aquilani looks to strengthen his squad. The Neroverdi are also reportedly close to agreeing a loan deal with Benfica for defender Rafael Obrador, with a €7m purchase option. Obrador already has experience in Serie A, having spent the last six months on loan at Torino.
Dominguez's arrival at Sassuolo will provide competition for places in the squad, and the 22-year-old will be looking to make an impact in his new surroundings. With his birthday just around the corner, Dominguez will be eager to get started and make a positive contribution to the team.
Sassuolo are expected to announce the completion of the loan deal for Obrador in the coming days, with the Neroverdi looking to further strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.
