The São Paulo FC has reached an agreement with the Novorizontino to pay off a debt of R$ 1.1 million, which was related to the transfer of midfielder Djhordney. The debt was due to be paid in full, but the two clubs have negotiated a new payment plan, which will see the São Paulo FC pay three installments of around R$ 366,700 to the Novorizontino by the end of the year. This agreement was mediated by the presidents of the two clubs, Harry Massis and Genílson da Rocha Santos, and was signed on Thursday.
The São Paulo FC had been given 45 days by the Anresf to resolve the situation, after the agency gave the club a deadline in August. The Anresf had warned that if the debt was not paid, the São Paulo FC would face a transfer ban. With this agreement, the São Paulo FC has avoided a second transfer ban this season, after being punished by FIFA in July for a debt related to the transfer of Marcos Antônio.
The São Paulo FC is currently awaiting approval for a new contract with the Ticketmaster, which would see the club manage the ticket sales at the Morumbis stadium. The club is facing financial difficulties and is hoping to secure the deal to improve its cash flow.
