According to a CNN interview, Samuel Eto'o, president of the Cameroonian Football Federation, has reaffirmed his support for FIFA president Gianni Infantino. Eto'o believes Infantino's proposal to privatise the World Cup is 'very good for African nations'. The proposal was initially supported by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), but was ultimately rejected following controversy. Eto'o expressed disappointment that Infantino scrapped the project due to 'orchestrated media coverage'. He also stated that his federation would present a motion to FIFA to re-examine the proposal. The next FIFA election is scheduled to take place on 18 March 2027 in Rabat, Morocco.
