VoetbalPrimeur reports that the Scottish Football Association made Pocognoli a job offer, which he has accepted. This marks a new challenge for the experienced coach, who previously made a name for himself as trainer of Union SG. Under his leadership, the Belgian club won the Jupiler Pro League title.
Pocognoli's coaching career began after his playing days, during which he represented several clubs, including Standard Luik, AZ, and KRC Genk. He also earned 19 caps for the Belgian national team. As a player, Pocognoli accumulated a significant number of appearances, with 156 games for Standard Luik, 81 for AZ, and 50 for KRC Genk.
In his previous coaching role at AS Monaco, Pocognoli managed the team for 38 games, achieving an average of 1.50 points per match. Following his departure from the French club, Pocognoli was without a team, paving the way for his new position as Scotland's coach.
Pocognoli's appointment brings an end to his period without a club, and he is now set to take charge of Scotland's national team.
