According to reports, the Premier League will start the 2026/27 season with nine new coaches. This is the highest number of new coaches at the start of a season since the Premier League's creation 34 years ago. Manchester City has appointed Enzo Maresca as their new coach, following Pep Guardiola's departure after 10 years in charge. Chelsea has brought in Xabi Alonso, while Liverpool has chosen Andoni Iraola. Bournemouth has selected Marco Rose, and Newcastle has appointed Matthias Jaissle. Nottingham Forest has named Oliver Glasner, Crystal Palace has appointed Pierre Sage, and Ipswich Town has named Gary O'Neil as their new coach.

A total of 55% of the coaches starting the season have been in their positions for less than a year. This is a significant change from previous seasons, where the average tenure of a coach in the Premier League was around 1 year, 3 months, and 9 days. Only five coaches have been in their positions for two seasons or more.

Mikel Arteta, the Arsenal coach, is the only one among the 20 who has won a title in the Premier League. He will be looking to repeat a feat achieved by Pep Guardiola, Alex Ferguson, and José Mourinho by winning two consecutive editions of the Premier League. Unai Emery is the second coach with the most time in a team in the Premier League.
