Michael Oliver has been an international referee since 2012 and has previously refereed 11 European matches involving Dutch clubs. He also refereed the 2022 World Cup match between the Netherlands and Sweden, which the Dutch team won 5-1. The UEFA has also announced the referees for the Conference League play-offs between Ajax and Sion, and FC Twente and Qarabag. Julian Weinberger, a 41-year-old Austrian referee, will lead the match between Ajax and Sion, while Rohit Saggi, a 34-year-old Norwegian referee, will referee the match between FC Twente and Qarabag. Both Weinberger and Saggi have never refereed a Dutch club in Europe before.
The match between NEC and Bodø/Glimt is set to kick off on Tuesday, with Michael Oliver at the helm.
