Manchester United are looking to strengthen their squad further before the transfer deadline on September 1. Assistant manager Michael Carrick has stated that the club "need" more signings to improve the team. Carrick believes that the players brought in so far have improved the squad, but there are still areas that need attention. Carrick hinted that the club might have to find a different way of competing with the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City, who have spent heavily in the transfer market.
