L'Équipe Football reports that RC Lens were defeated 0-2 by Sunderland in their final pre-season friendly match. The match took place just eight days before Lens host Paris Saint-Germain in the Trophée des Champions. Andrija Bulatovic played the full 90 minutes for Lens in the friendly.

Lens had a difficult first half, with Sunderland scoring twice through Trai Hume (17') and Brian Brobbey (45'). Thomas Meunier had a goal disallowed for Lens in the first half due to a push on Sagnan. The second half saw Lens continue to struggle with their attacking play, with Hume scoring the opening goal (67') and Wilson Isidor sealing the win for Sunderland with a late header (82').
